Model VBO – Upblast Fan

BENEFITS

Model VBO belt-drive upblast roof fans discharge hot, humid air out of the building. These fans operate reliably in the most hostile environments because the motor and drive are out of the air stream, and as such, protected from high temperatures and contaminated air. The VBO fan is suitable for environments with air temperatures up to 200°.

The weather protecting dampers open automatically when the fan is started. The high velocity exhaust airstream holds the dampers open preventing the entrance of rain or snow. When the motor power is cut, the dampers close to provide a complete weather seal. A rain runoff trough is located below the damper shafts to provide drainage to the outside resulting in weather-tight construction. The Model VBO is the perfect ventilator for high heat, heavy manufacturing facilities.

Moffitt also offers the Model VBO-HV for environments with even higher temperatures, or ones that are susceptible to heat and smoke. This powerful fan can help remove smoke and fume removal during a fire. These high volume, high velocity exhausters are the ideal choice for locations where reliable ventilation is required. Engineered to meet the high temperature requirements of the Uniform Fire Code of 1000°F for a minimum of 15 minutes, and the IRI requirements of 500°F for a minimum of 4 hours. Tests were conducted by an independent testing organization and witnessed by UL engineers and were tested in accordance with UL smoke control systems standards. The test conclusively proved that the Model VBO-HV could be operated at these elevated temperatures without failure.
